Logos Classical Academy began as a "chance meeting" at the 2018 CiRCE conference in Charleston, SC. Ashley Chin happen to mention to Julie Dreher (Head of the Grammar School at Sequitur Classical Academy in Baton Rouge, LA) that she wished there were a Classical Christian hybrid school in New Orleans. Julie's response, "We can help you start one!" And that set in motion what now exists as Logos Classical Academy.
In September 2018 Ashley invited Sequitur founder and former Head of School, Brian Daigle, to New Orleans to address a group of parents interested in starting a Classical Christian hybrid school. Founding board members Brian Daigle, Ashley Chin, Charlotte Chauhan, and Eileen Timler worked tirelessly beginning in January 2019, and through God's grace and provision, Logos opened it's doors to 23 students, grades 4-11, in August of 2019 at Canal Street Church in New Orleans. That first year Logos was board run, with Ashley overseeing daily operations as the Lead Teacher.
Despite COVID-19 shut downs, Logos continued on and welcomed 43 students in grades 2-12 for the 2020-2021 school year. They had outgrown their initial location at Canal Street Church and were blessed to be able to move to First Baptist Church of Kenner, LA for their 2nd year. Ashley accepted the position of Acting Head of School until a permanent administrator could be found, and the board expanded to include Dr. Ronnie Fanguy.
The 2021-2022 school year brought substantial growth with 68 students in grades 2-12. In December 2021 Logos parent and tireless advocate, Dr. Fiona Barker was hired as the Head of School.
Through God's provision Logos continues to grow and prosper in it's mission to partner with parents to educate children classically, leading them to seek what is true, good, and beautiful, forming them to live for the glory and honor of the Triune God.
