Dr. Fiona Barker
Headmistress; Middle School and High School Instructor: Latin, Logic, Language Arts Dr. Barker moved to New Orleans in 2009 to be married and start a family. After eleven years at home with her four children, she began to wonder what plans Our Lord might have for using the education she brought with her to parenting: a B.S. in Chemistry and French from the College of William and Mary and a doctorate in Philosophy from St Louis University ("Connatural Knowledge and the Cogitative Power: a Thomist account of Culture"). During her nine years of graduate study, Dr. Barker had discovered the richness of the classical liberal arts tradition and changed the course of her philosophical studies from the History and Philosophy of Science to Ancient and Medieval Ethics. It was then she discovered the dictum that "the best things do not diminish when shared" and found joy in sharing the truths of logic, ethics, and human nature. Dr. Barker loves classical music and is an amateur violinist. The Barker family are parishioners at St Patrick's Church. |
